Colts Designate TE Erik Swoope To Return From Injured Reserve

The Indianapolis Colts officially designated TE Erik Swoope to return from injured reserve on Wednesday.

This officially opens a three-week window of time for the Colts to add him to their active roster or he’ll spend the duration of the 2017 season on injured reserve.

Swoope, 25, wound up signing on with the Colts as an undrafted free agent out of Miami back in May of 2014. He has been on and off of the team’s practice squad for the early part of his career before he made the 53-man roster last season.

The Colts brought Swoope back on an exclusive rights contract this offseason. Unfortunately, the Colts placed Swoope on injured reserve coming out of the preseason.

In 2016, Swoope appeared in all 16 games and caught 15 passes for 297 yards receiving and one touchdown.
