Colts Have Hosted ILBs Sean Spence, Jon Bostic & Kevin Minter For Visits

Field Yates of ESPN reports that the Colts have hosted a number of free agent inside linebackers in recent days including Sean Spence, Kevin Minter and Jon Bostic.

It appears as though Indianapolis is shopping for value at the position, as they look to replace veteran ILB D’Qwell Jackson, who was released this offseason.

Spence, 26, is a former third-round pick of the Steelers back in 2012. He, unfortunately, sustained a serious knee injury early on his NFL career that wound up preventing him from appearing in a game until the 2014 season.

However, Spence was able to return and play pretty well for the Steelers before he departed and signed a one-year, $2.5 million contract with the Titans last year.

In 2016, Spence appeared in 15 games for the Titans and recorded 54 tackles, three sacks, a forced fumble and three pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 44 linebacker out of 87 qualifying players.

Bostic, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Patriots back in 2013. After two years in Chicago, the Bears dealt him to the Patriots for a sixth-round pick that later became Jordan Lucas.

However, the Patriots elected to trade Bostic to the Lions for a conditional seventh-round pick in 2017 shortly after last year’s draft.

Bostic played out the final year of his four-year, $3.941 million rookie contract and is now testing the open market for the first time in his career.

In 2015, Bostic appeared in 11 games for the Patriots and recorded just two tackles.

Minter, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2013. He played out his four-year, $4,390,288 contract with the Cardinals and is now testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career.

In 2016, Minter appeared in all 16 games for the Cardinals and recorded 81 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 25 linebacker out of 87 qualifying players.
