Colts Hosting Free Agent LB Kevin Minter For Visit Monday

Jason La Canfora reports that free agent LB Kevin Minter is taking a visit to Indianapolis and will meet with the Colts.

This is the first reported interest in Minter since the free agent market officially opened last week.

Minter previously mentioned during an interview with Sirius XM NFL Radio that while he would like to return to Arizona for the 2017 season, he’s also curious to see what’s available in the free agent market.

“I would like to be back with the Cardinals, but I am curious to see what’s out there in free agency,” Minter said.

Interestingly enough, Minter added that he wouldn’t mind playing in New York.

I definitely wouldn’t mind playing in New York,” Minter said, per Sirius Radio. “Coach [Todd] Bowles was the one who essentially drafted me.”

Minter, 26, is a former second-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2013. He played out his four-year, $4,390,288 contract with the Cardinals and is now testing the open market as an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career.

In 2016, Minter appeared in all 16 games for the Cardinals and recorded 81 tackles, 3.5 sacks, and two pass defenses. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 25 linebacker out of 87 qualifying players.

We have him featured in our Top 50 Available Free Agents list.
