Colts Hosting Veteran RB Stevan Ridley For Visit Friday

Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that the Colts are bringing in veteran RB Stevan Ridley for a visit on Friday.

  • According to Stephen Holder, a decision on Ridley’s next move might not come today, as he reportedly has drawn interest from other teams and could potentially multiple offers in the end.

This comes just a day after the Lions officially released Ridley, so it didn’t take long for him to find some interest.

There has been some question about the Colts’ depth at running back, Ridley is currently among the best available options. As of now, the Colts have Frank Gore, Robert Turbin, Josh Ferguson, Jordan Todman and Trey Williams on their roster at running back.

Ridley, 27, is a former third-round pick of the Patriots back in 2011. He played out his rookie contract before signing a one-year, $1.25 million contract with the Jets back in April of last year.

The Lions signed Ridley to a one-year contract this past April before he was cut on Thursday.

In 2015, Ridley ran for 90 yards on 36 carries (2.5 YPC) to go along with four receptions for -minus two yards receiving and no touchdowns.
