Colts Inform Andrew Luck That He’ll Be The First Overall Pick

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Indianapolis Colts have informed Stanford QB Andrew Luck that they’re going to take him with the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming draft, one week from today.

Certainly this isn’t shocking by any means, as it just confirms what everyone believed to be the case. At least we can now feel confident in saying that Robert Griffin III will be the Washington Redskins next quarterback.

Here’s an interesting quote regarding how good of a prospect Luck is.

“(Luck) is the first pick in any draft I have been a part of,” said an NFL scout with over 20-years of experience, via the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. “He might have been picked ahead of (Peyton) Manning. He’s not a (John) Elway arm. Neither was Manning. If you were just taking him and Peyton out of college they have very similar characteristics and careers. Luck would have been faster and stronger than Peyton.”
