Dave Toub & Leslie Frazier Could Be Candidates For Colts’ HC Job

According to Mike Garafolo, the Colts may turn their attention to Chiefs special teams coordinator Dave Toub now that Josh McDaniels has shockingly backed out of an agreement to become their next head coach.

  • Ian Rapoport mentions Bills DC Leslie Frazier as someone worth keeping an eye on in regards to the Colts’ GM job.
  • Pro Football Talk reports that the Colts had feeling this could happen and now have three candidates ready to interview in next 24-48 hours.

Garafolo says that Toub was a “strong candidate” for the Colts’ job and he previously worked with GM Chris Ballard in Kansas City.

Over the weekend, Adam Caplan reported that the rumor circulating in coaching circles this weekend was that Toub would become the Colts’ target for their head-coaching job if McDaniels decided to remain with the Patriots.

Toub, 55, began his NFL coaching career with the Eagles back in 2001 as their special teams/quality control coach.

After a few years in Philadelphia, the Bears hired Toub as their special teams coordinator where he remained nine seasons.

Andy Reid elected to bring in Toub to run his special teams unit in 2013.

We’ll have more regarding Colts’ head-coaching job as the news is available.
