Colts Officially Re-Sign K Adam Vinatieri To One-Year, $3.625M Deal

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Colts and kicker Adam Vinatieri officially have reached agreement on a one-year deal.

  • According to Schefter, Vinatieri’s one-year deal with the Colts is worth $3.625 million, which breaks down to a $1 million signing bonus and a $2.625M base salary

This comes just a day after Bob Kravitz reported that the Colts and Vinatieri were “very close” to an agreement on a one-year contract to keep him in Indianapolis for the 2018 season.

Vinatieri, 45, originally signed on with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of South Dakota State back in 1996. He played seven years in New England before signing on with the Colts in 2006.

Since then, Vinatieri has played another 12 years in Indianapolis and is in position to be an unrestricted free agent in the coming months.

In 2017, Vinatieri appeared in 15 games for the Colts and converted 29 of 34 field goal attempts (85.3 percent) to go along with 22 of 24 extra point tries (91.7 percent).
