Colts Place DT Arthur Jones On Injured Reserve, Promote DE Kristjan Sokoli

The Indianapolis Colts announced that they’ve promoted DE Kristjan Sokoli to their active roster and placed DT Arthur Jones on the Injured Reserve list.

Earlier in the year, Jones served a four-game suspension for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy.

Jones, 30, is a former fifth-round pick of the Ravens back in 2010. He played out his four-year rookie contract with the Ravens before signing a five-year, $33 million contract that included $16 million guaranteed.

Jones was set to make a base salary of $4.5 million for the 2016 season when he agreed to a pay cut earlier in the offseason. It’s possible he could be a cap casualty next year, considering that he hasn’t lived up to expectations during his time in Indianapolis.

In 2016, Jones has appeared in eight games and recorded 30 tackles and no sacks for the Colts.

Sokoli, 25, was taken in the sixth-round of last year’s NFL Draft by the Seahawks. He was in the second year of his four-year, $2,370,484 rookie contract and set to make a base salary of $525,000 base salary for the 2016 season when he was cut loose.

The Colts later signed him to their practice squad a few weeks into the regular season.

In 2015, Sokoli was limited to appearing in one game for the Seahawks.
