Colts Placing G Jack Mewhort On Injured Reserve

According to Stephen Holder, the Colts have placed G Jack Mewhort on the injured reserve.

Holder writes that Mewhort’s knee swelled up on Friday and the team decided that he required another surgery after undergoing an MRI.

Mewhort, 26, was taken in the second round of the 2014 draft by the Colts. He’s currently in the final year of his four-year, $3,573,801 rookie contract and stands to make base salaries of $907,337 this season.

In 2016, Mewhort appeared in all 16 games for the Colts.

So far this season, Mewhort has played in all five games and Pro Football Focus rates him as the No. 48 overall guard out of 72 qualifiers.
