The Indianapolis Colts announced Monday that they’ve promoted ILB Darnell Sankey to their active roster and placed WR Krishawn Hogan on the injured reserve list.

  • The Colts also signed RB Marcus Murphy to the practice squad.

The Colts’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. QB Phillip Walker
  2. NT Joey Mbu
  3. OT Tyreek Burwell (Exception)
  4. WR Cyril Grayson
  5. LB Joshua Perry
  6. TE Marcus Lucas (Injured)
  7. G Ian Silberman
  8. WR Matt Hazel
  9. DB Channing Stribling
  10. TE Mo Alie-Cox
  11. RB Marcus Murphy

Sankey, 22, originally signed on with the Broncos as an undrafted free agent out of Sacramento State. Unfortunately, Denver chose to waive him as they trimmed down to 75 players.

The Raiders later signed him to their practice squad a few weeks into the regular season before cutting him loose in October of last year. He signed to the Chiefs practice squad but was released after a month with the team.

The Vikings signed him to a contract in August but elected to cut him loose after a few weeks.  Sankey later signed on with the Colts and has been on and off of their roster this year.

During his four-year college career, Sankey recorded 330 tackles, 12.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, two recoveries an interception and nine pass defenses. Sankey earned FCS All-America honors during his senior season at Sacramento State.

Hogan, 22, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Colts as an undrafted free agent out of Marian back in May. He was set to make base salaries of $465,000 and $555,000 over the first two years of the contract when the Colts cut him loose coming out of the preseason and later signed him to their practice squad.

The Colts called him up a few weeks into the regular season and he appeared in two games for Indianapolis.

During his college career at Marian, Hogan appeared in 40 games and had 263 receptions for 4,395 yards (16.7 avg.) and 42 touchdowns.
