Colts Re-Sign RFA TE Jack Doyle

The Indianapolis Colts Thursday announced that restricted free agent TE Jack Doyle has signed his qualifying offer.

The Colts used a low-round tender on Doyle that will run them $1,671,000 for the 2016 season. This designation gave them the right of first refusal on any contract offer he received, but wouldn’t have included any compensation had they elected to not match an offer.

Doyle, 25, originally signed on with the Titans as an undrafted free agent out of Western Kentucky back in 2013. He lasted just a few months in Tennessee before he was waived at the start of the season and later claimed off of waivers by the Colts.

In 2015, Doyle appeared in all 16 games for the Colts and recorded 12 receptions for 72 yards receiving and a touchdown. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 36 tight end out of 67 qualifying players.
