Colts Re-Sign TE Dwayne Allen To A Four-Year, $29.4M Deal

Pro Football Talk is reporting that the Colts have re-signed TE Dwayne Allen to a four-year contract.

  • PFT adds that Allen receives a four-year, $29.4 million deal that will pay him $12 million in year one and a total of $17 million through year two.

Allen tells Josina Anderson of his decision to return to the Colts: “I knew this was home and with their offer they confirmed that to me.

This is an impressive haul for Allen, given that he hasn’t exactly been the most productive player since entering the NFL.

The Colts also have TE Coby Fleener as a free agent, so it will be interesting to see if they allow him to walk in the coming days.

Allen, 25, played out the final year of his four-year, $3.08 million rookie contract and was set to be an unrestricted free agent in the coming days.

In 2015, Allen appeared in 13 games for the Colts and recorded 16 receptions for 109 yards receiving and a touchdown. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 73 tight end out of 74 qualifying players.
