Colts Release RB/KR Jeff Demps From Practice Squad

The Indianapolis Colts have released RB/KR Jeff Demps from their practice squad on Tuesday, according to Stephen Holder.

  • Holder adds that there is still a chance that Demps could be brought back at some point.

Demps, 24, signed with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of Florida back in 2012. However, he was later traded to the Buccaneers in a deal that sent RB LeGarrette Blount to the Patriots in return for Demps and a 2013 seventh-round pick.

Unfortunately for Demps, he was unable to make the Buccaneers’ final 53-man roster coming out of the preseason and was placed on waivers. The Colts brought him in a week ago, so his stay in Indianapolis was pretty short.

He has yet to appear in a game this season, but he was active for two games last year.
