Colts Request Permission To Interview Packers Exec. Eliot Wolf For GM Job

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reports that Colts owner Jim Irsay has requested permission to interview Packers executive Eliot Wolf for their GM vacancy.

Wolf joins of list of candidates for the Colts’ position that includes Seahawks executives Trent Kirchner and Scott Fitterer, Pelissero also reports that the Colts have requested permission to interview Vikings assistant GM George Paton. and Colts interim GM Jimmy Raye III.

Irsay is reportedly the one making the call on who will be the team’s next general manager, which some have interpreted as being a good sign he’ll go with Raye. However, he’ll at least give some other an opportunity to win him over for the position.

Last week, Wolf decided to withdraw from the 49ers’ GM search, despite the fact that he was among the candidates chosen for a second interview. Wolf has since agreed to a new contract with the Packers that includes a new title.

It’s worth mentioning that many considered Wolf to be an eventual successor to Packers GM Ted Thompson.
