Colts Rule Out QB Andrew Luck For Week 16

Colts HC Chuck Pagano announced Monday that QB Andrew Luck will not play in their Week 16 matchup against the Dolphins.

There was some hope that Luck could be back this week, but it looks like his lacerated kidney still isn’t 100 percent healthy.

The Colts dropped a big game to the Texans on Sunday, so their hopes of making the playoffs are diminishing.

Luck, 26, is under contract for another two years and stands to make base salaries of $3,404,727 and $16.155 million during this time. Of course, everyone around the league expects him to ultimately become the highest paid player in NFL history at some point in the next year or so.

This season, Luck has completed 55.3 percent of his passes to go along with 1,881 yards, 15 touchdowns and 12 interceptions over the course of seven games. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 34 quarterback out of 36 qualifying players.

We’ll have more regarding Luck’s return as the news is available.
