Colts Sign CFL Standout OL Ben Heenan

The Indianapolis Colts announced Tuesday that they have signed CFL standout OL Ben Heenan to a contract.

Aaron Wilson reported earlier in the day that Heenan had interest from five NFL teams and a decision could come as early as today.

Indianapolis has shown a tendency to sign CFL players since Ryan Grigson took over as the team’s general manger. In fact, they just signed standout receiver Duron Carter to a contract as well.

Heenan, 6-4, 316 pounds, spent the past three years with the Saskatchewan Roughriders after he was taken No. 1 overall in the 2012 CFL Draft.

During his CFL career, Heenan has started all but three games, including 21 this past season.
