Colts Sign Veteran DT Al Woods

The Indianapolis Colts have signed veteran DT Al Woods to a contract on Thursday, according to his agency.

  • Ian Rapoport reports that Woods contract with the Colts is a two-year deal worth over $5 million.

It’s worth mentioning that signing Woods to a contract won’t impact a team’s compensatory picks, considering that he was released.

Woods, 29, is a former fourth-round pick of the Saints back in 2010. However, he lasted just a few months in New Orleans before he was waived at the start of the 2010 season.

After a brief stint with the Steelers, Woods was claimed off of waivers by the Buccaneers, but his stay was once again short lived. He later signed with the Seahawks before returning to the Steelers in 2011.

The Titans elected to sign him to a contract in March of 2014. Woods signed a three-year, $10.5 million contract with the Titans last year but was cut loose in recent weeks.

In 2016, Woods appeared in 12 games for the Titans and recorded 18 tackles and no sacks.
