Colts Sign First-Round C Ryan Kelly To A Four-Year Deal

The Indianapolis Colts announced Wednesday night that they’ve agreed to terms with first- round C Ryan Kelly.

Kelly becomes the first player from the Colts’ 2016 draft class to sign his rookie. Typically, first-round picks are the last to sign, so this appears to be a good indication that they plan to wrap up their draft class in the near future.

Kelly was selected with the No. 18 overall pick last Thursday and fills a huge need in the middle of the Colts’ offensive line.

According to OverTheCap.com, Kelly receives a four-year contract worth $10,450,986  to go along with a signing bonus of $5,800,716. The contract will include a fifth-year option for the team to consider in 2019.

During his four-year college career at Alabama, Kelly started 36 of the 43 games and won the 2015 Rimington Trophy as the nation’s top center during his senior season.
