The Indianapolis Colts announced Friday that they’ve signed K Devon Bell to a reserve/future contract.
This is the 9th player signed to a futures deal by the Colts since their season ended including:
- OLB Lavar Edwards (NFLTR)
- WR Marcus Leak
- S Stefan McClure
- CB Tevin Mitchel
- QB Stephen Morris
- G Adam Redmond
- WR Tevaun Smith
- CB Larry Scott
- K Devon Bell
Future/reserve contracts are essentially an opportunity for players compete for a roster spot in offseason workouts and during training camp.
Bell, 23, wound up signing a three-year, $1.62 million contract with the Lions as an undrafted free agent out ofMississippi State back in May. He was unfortunately waived during the final week of the preseason.
During his college career, Bell appeared in 50 games, serving as a punter, placekicker and kickoff specialist.
