Colts Sign LB Robert Ruggiero & Waived-Injured LB Shawn Loiseau

The Indianapolis Colts announced the signing of LB Robert Ruggiero and that they have waived-injured LB Shawn Loiseau on Wednesday.

Ruggiero tried out for the Colts during their rookie mini-camp back in May. He is an undrafted free agent out Bridgewater State University and was named the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year last season.

Loiseau, 24, signed with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent out of Merrimack back in 2012. However, the Texans placed him on waivers at the start of the regular season and he later caught on with the Colts. Loiseau was once again waived at the start of the 2013 season.

The Colts brought him in a few weeks ago, but apparently didn’t view him as being worth a roster spot.

LA Kiss of the Arena Football League signed him to a contract in June. He recorded 23 tackles (16 solo), four tackles for loss, 1.0 sack and two passes defensed over the course of five games for the LA Kiss.
