The Indianapolis Colts announced Friday that they’ve signed nine draft picks including G Quenton Nelson, DE Tyquan Lewis DE Tyquan Lewis, RB Nyheim Hines, WR Daurice Fountain, RB Jordan Wilkins, WR Deon Cain, LB Matthew Adams and LB Zaire Franklin.
This leaves just two unsigned draft picks from the Colts’ 2018 class.
Nelson, 22, was taken with the No. 6 overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft by the Colts. According to OverTheCap.com, Nelson received a $23,983,414 contract that includes a $15,581,484 signing bonus.
The contract includes a fifth-year option for the Colts to pick up in 2021. It’s worth mentioning that the fifth-year option is only guaranteed for injury and won’t prevent the two parties from working on a long-term extension.
During his four-year college career at Notre Dame, Nelson earned AP Second Team All-American honors in 2016, Sports Illustrated Second Team All-American in 2016, and was the Notre Dame Offensive Lineman of the Year in 2016.
