Colts Sign OLB Lavar Edwards To Practice Squad

The Indianapolis Colts announced Monday that they’ve signed DE Lavar Edwards to their practice squad after he cleared waivers.

The Colts’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. DL Kristjan Sokoli
  2. TE Mike Miller (Injured)
  3. WR Marcus Leak
  4. LB Luke Rhodes
  5. DB Tevin Mitchel
  6. WR Tevaun Smith
  7. G Adam Redmond
  8. QB Stephen Morris
  9. OT Pierce Burton
  10. G Kitt O’Brien

Edwards, 26, is a former fifth-round pick of the Titans back in 2013. He was traded to the Cowboys a year later and would go on to spend just over a year in Dallas.

Since then, Edwards bounced around a bit, playing for the Raiders, Bears, Cowboys and Bills before he was claimed off of waivers by the Panthers at the start of the season. The Panthers elected to cut Edwards loose back in October and he was later claimed off of waivers by the Colts.

Indianapolis waived him last week to make room for OLB Deiontrez Mount.

In 2016, Edwards has appeared in 10 games and recorded 11 tackles, two sacks, and a pass defense.
