Colts Sign RB Jeff Demps To Practice Squad, Release RB Michael Hill

The Indianapolis Colts announced Tuesday that they have signed RB Jeff Demps to their practice squad.

  • The Colts released RB Michael Hill from their practice squad to make room for him.

Demps, 24, signed with the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of Florida back in 2012. However, he was later traded to the Buccaneers in a deal that sent RB LeGarrette Blount to the Patriots in return for Demps and a 2013 seventh-round pick.

Unfortunately for Demps, he was unable to make the Buccaneers’ final 53-man roster coming out of the preseason and was placed on waivers.

The Colts signed him to a contract back in October, but he lasted just a few weeks with the team before he was released from their taxi squad.

He has yet to appear in a game this season, but he was active for two games last year.
