Colts Sign S Lee Hightower To Futures Deal

The Indianapolis Colts announced Thursday that they’ve signed S Lee Hightower to a future/reserve contract.

Hightower becomes the 11th player to sign a futures deal with the Colts since their season ended. The full list includes:

  1. OLB Lavar Edwards (NFLTR)
  2. WR Marcus Leak
  3. S Stefan McClure
  4. CB Tevin Mitchel
  5. QB Stephen Morris
  6. G Adam Redmond
  7. WR Tevaun Smith
  8. CB Larry Scott
  9. K Devon Bell
  10. OLB Alex Bazzie
  11. S Lee Hightower

Future/reserve contracts are essentially an opportunity for players compete for a roster spot in offseason workouts and during training camp.

Hightower, 23, wound up signing on with the Colts as an undrafted free agent out of Houston back in May. He was, unfortunately, unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason but was later signed to their practice squad.

Hightower was on and off of the Colts’ practice squad this year before he eventually joined the Redskins for a brief stint on their taxi squad.

During his college career, Hightower recorded 65 tackles, two interceptions, a forced fumble and five pass defenses over the course of 20 games.
