Colts Sign TE Mike McFarland & Waive OT Pierce Burton

The Indianapolis Colts announced that they’ve signed TE Mike McFarland to a contract on Wednesday and waived OT Pierce Burton.

Mohamed, 24, signed on with the Texans as an undrafted free agent out of South Florida a few days after this year’s NFL draft. However, he was later waived with the injury designation a few weeks into the preseason, and placed on injured reserve with a calf injury.

Houston wound up releasing him with a settlement a few months later.

During his four years at South Florida, McFarland caught 55 passes for 643 yards receiving and two touchdowns.

Burton, 24, wound up signing on with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Mississippi back in 2014. He lasted just a few months in Minnesota before he was among their roster cuts at the start of the season.

Burton had brief stints with the Falcons and Panthers before signing a future/reserve contract with the Colts in January.

He has yet to appear in an NFL game.
