Colts Sign WR Cobi Hamilton, Waive RB Tion Green

The Indianapolis Colts announced Monday that they’ve signed WR Cobi Hamilton and waived RB Tion Green.

Hamilton, 27, is a former sixth-round pick of the Bengals back 2013. He was, unfortunately, unable to make the team coming out of the preseason during his rookie season but was later signed to the Bengals’ practice squad.

Hamilton had brief stints with the Eagles, Bengals, Dolphins and Panthers before he was signed by the Steelers in 2016. After returning to the Steelers on a future/reserve contract, Pittsburgh waived him at the start of the 2017 season and he later signed on to the Texans’ practice squad.

Houston placed Hamilton on waivers back in March and he was later claimed by the Cardinals. However, Arizona cut him loose a few months ago.

In 2017, Hamilton appeared in three games for the Texans and caught one pass for eight yards receiving and no touchdowns.

Green, 24, wound up signing a three-year, $1.66 million contract with the Lions as an undrafted free agent out of Cincinnati last year. He managed to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason and was set to make base salaries of $555,000 and $645,000 over the next two years of the agreement when the Lions waived him this past May.

The Colts signed Green to a contract a few weeks ago.

In 2017, Green appeared in five games for the Lions and rushed for 165 yards on 42 carries (3.9 YPC) to go along with two receptions for 14 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
