Colts Sign WR Cyril Grayson Jr To Practice Squad, Cut WR Fred Brown

The Indianapolis Colts announced Tuesday that they’ve signed WR Cyril Grayson Jr. to the practice squad and released WR Fred Brown from the unit.

The Colts’ practice squad now consists of:

  1. QB Phillip Walker
  2. TE Henry Krieger-Coble
  3. WR Krishawn Hogan
  4. NT Joey Mbu
  5. OT Andrew Wylie
  6. OT Tyreek Burwell (Exception)
  7. RB Matt Jones (Exception)
  8. LB Johnathan Calvin
  9. WR Devin Lucien (Injured)
  10. WR Cyril Grayson Jr

Grayson, 23, hadn’t played organized football since 2011 when he was still a senior at Rummel High School in the New Orleans. However, Grayson was a standout track star at LSU and a seven-time All-American on both indoor and outdoor tracks. He also won four national championships on relay teams.

Grayson took part in LSU’s Pro Day and posted a 4.33 seconds in the 40-yard dash, posted a 10-foot, 7-inch broad jump, and a 34.5-inch vertical leap.

The Seahawks signed him to a contract back in April but he was waived coming out of the preseason. He had a brief stint on the Seahawks practice squad.

During his senior season in high school, Grayson caught 28 passes for 731 yards receiving and eight touchdowns.
