Colts Signing DE Ryan Delaire, Waive S Shamarko Thomas

According to Ian Rapoport, the Colts are signing free agent DE Ryan Delaire to a contract on Saturday.

  • The Colts waived S Shamarko Thomas to make room for him.

Delaire, 26, originally signed on with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of back in May of 2015. He lasted just a few months with the Buccaneers before he was waived coming out of the preseason and later signed to the Redskins’ practice squad.

The Panthers signed him to their active roster a few weeks into the 2015 season and he finished out the year in Carolina. Unfortunately, the Panthers waived Delaire in July of last year and wound up missing the entire 2017 season.

The Cowboys and Bears hosted Delaire for a work out back in April, but he walked away from both meetings without a deal.

In 2016, Delaire appeared in six games for the Panthers and recorded three tackles, one sack and a pass defense.
