ESPN’s Adam Schefter mentioned that he predicts that Kerry Collins will be the Colts starting quarterback for week.
“They’re going as if Kerry Collins is going to be the starter,” said Schefter. “That’s the feeling in the organization.”
Indianapolis has to treat the situation as though Collins would be their start simply because of limited amount of time he’s had to get familiar with the teams offensive system. Peyton Manning‘s health is a serious question mark at this point and it really wouldn’t surprise me to see him miss the first start of his career.
Colts head coach Jim Caldwell likes to play things safe and ensuring that Manning is healthy enough for the long hall is more important than rushing him back and risking a serious injury as their offensive line had looked pretty bad thus far.
