Colts Targeting Andrew Luck?

Following the Indianapolis Colts disastrous loss to the Houston Texans, rumors began circulating that the Colts could actually be in the running for highly touted QB Andrew Luck.

Colts president Bill Polian was seen scouting Luck on Saturday but Polian mentioned that he was just doing his due diligence.  Owner Jim Irsay tweeted this morning that they are not in the running for Luck despite Polian being attendance.

It’s really not surprising to see one of the prominent members of the teams front office try to diffuse the rumors of them losing enough games to grab the best quarterback prospect since Peyton Manning. He’s in the business of selling tickets and this season is already shaping up to be the worst season since the early nineties.

Even after seeing how bad they played against the Texans, the Colts aren’t likely to finish with the worst record. There’s enough talent to actually win a few games but without Manning, there’s no way they’re competing for the playoffs.

The good news is that the coming draft should have multiple quarterback prospects available even if they don’t finish with the worst record.
