Colts Targeting Ravens Defensive Free Agents?

Mike Chappell of the Indianapolis Star tweets that the Colts could end up targeting some of the Ravens defensive free agents like DE Cory Redding and LB Jarret Johnson.

The Colts have already begun the process of stripping their roster of veteran players that aren’t going to be as valuable for them in the coming years. New head coach Chuck Pagano is ready to implement a new defensive scheme and signing some of his former players makes plenty of sense as it will almost certainly make the transition much easier.

Indy has cleared a ton of cap space in recent days, even though in doing so they have also created large sum of “dead money,” which should allow them to sign some quality free agents to round out their roster. Johnson figures to draw interest from a number of 3-4 teams as he’s proven to be a very valuable commodity for the Ravens in recent years.

We have Johnson listed as the #30 best available free agent in our Top 50 Free Agents list.
