Colts Place TE Jack Doyle On Injured Reserve With Kidney Injury

Update:

Colts HC Frank Reich confirmed Monday that TE Jack Doyle is being placed on injured reserve with a kidney injury.

According to Reich, Doyle was admitted into the hospital last night and is doing better now.

Stephen Holder of the Athletic reports that Colts TE Jack Doyle suffered an unspecified injury during Sunday’s game against the Dolphins and is expected to be placed on injured reserve.

The Colts are dealing with a number of injuries at tight end right now with Eric Ebron being the only healthy tight end they have, so this is clearly a big concern for them moving forward.

Doyle, 28, originally signed on with the Titans as an undrafted free agent out of Western Kentucky back in 2013. He lasted just a few months in Tennessee before he was waived at the start of the 2013 season and later claimed off of waivers by the Colts.

Doyle returned to the Colts on a one-year, restricted tender in 2017 before agreeing to a three-year, $19 million contract this past March.

In 2018, Doyle has appeared in six games for the Colts and caught 26 passes for 245 yards receiving and two touchdowns.

We’ll have more regarding Doyle as the news is available.
