The Indianapolis Colts are hosting eight players for tryouts during their minicamp this week, according to George Bremer, including:
- WR Paul McRoberts
- CB Juante Baldwin
- CB Keenan Lewis
- RB Jordan Huff
- S Tim Scott
- DE Jacquies Smith
- DE Evan Panfil
- DE Christian French
Lewis, 32, is a former third-round pick of the Steelers back in 2009. He spent four years in Pittsburgh before signing a five-year, $25.5 million contract with the Saints in 2013.
New Orleans cut him loose at the start of the 2016 season and he’s sat out the last two years.
In 2015, Lewis was limited to appearing in six games and recording six tackles, no interceptions and two pass defenses. Unfortunately, Lewis wound up sitting out the entire 2016 season.
Smith, 28, originally signed on with the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent out of Missouri back in 2012. He had brief stints with the Jets and Bills before he was waived at the start of the 2014 season and later claimed by the Buccaneers.
Tampa Bay brought Smith back on a one-year exclusive rights contract for the 2016 season and he returned to the Bucs on a one-year, original-round tender worth $1.797 million last year. Smith had a brief stint with the Lions last year.
In 2017, Smith appeared in three games and recorded one tackle.
