Colts Waive QB Ryan Lindley

The Indianapolis Colts announced that they’ve placed QB Ryan Lindley on waivers Tuesday.

This could be a good sign for Josh Freeman‘s chances of making the team in 2016.

Lindley, 26, is a former sixth-round pick of the Cardinals back in 2012. He spent two years in Arizona before he was released and later caught on with the Chargers. Lindley actually returned to the Cardinals last year.

The Patriots signed Lindley to a one-year deal as a free agent during the preseason, but cut him loose at the start of the season. He later caught on with the Colts late December.

In 2015, Lindley appeared in one game for the Colts and threw for 58 yards while completing 60 percent of his passes to go along with a touchdown and no interceptions.
