Colts Waive S Sean Baker From Practice Squad, Add LB Josh Martin

The Indianapolis Colts announced that they’ve signed LB Josh Martin to the practice squad and released S Sean Baker from the unit.

  • The Colts also signed G Kitt O’Brien to their practice squad Saturday.

It’s interesting to see the Colts cut Baker, given that they just signed him a few days ago, but it appears as though they preferred to go in a different direction.

Baker, 26, originally signed on with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent out of Ball State back in 2012. He spent a little over a year in Tampa Bay before signing to the Falcons’ practice squad.

After two-plus years in Atlanta, Baker was waived during the team’s roster cuts at the start of the regular season.

In 2014, Baker appeared in five games and recorded two tackles for the Falcons.

Martin, 23, originally signed on with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent out of Columbia back in 2013. He was re-signed to an exclusive rights contract back in April, but was unfortunately waived with an injury settlement at the start of the season.

The Buccaneers later signed him to their active roster before waiving him with the injury designation on a few weeks ago.

This season, Martin has been active for two games, but has yet to record a single statistic.
