Colts Will Keep Peyton Manning On Their Roster

Indianapolis Colts president Bill Polian mentioned that he intends to keep QB Peyton Manning on the teams active roster for the remainder of the 2011 season.

This is somewhat surprising considering that the Colts are currently sitting at 0-8 on the season and the severity of Manning’s injury makes his return to the field a huge risk.

“I’m not sure we would necessarily play him in ballgames with our offensive line as beaten up as it is right now,” Polian said.

That’s probably a good idea Polian. It seems as though the plan is to allow Manning to participate in practice with the team throughout the remainder of the season to keep him in some amount of shape as he continues to recover from numerous neck surgeries.
