Colts Worked Out 8 Players Including RB Ka’Deem Carey

According to Howard Balzer, the Indianapolis Colts brought in eight free agents for workouts this week including RB Ka’Deem Carey.

The full list of workouts for the Colts includes:

  1. WR Dres Anderson
  2. WR Isaac Fruechte
  3. WR Alonzo Moore
  4. WR Tim Patrick
  5. RB Ka’Deem Carey
  6. RB Dare Ogunbowale
  7. RB Juwan Thompson
  8. QB Tyler Ferguson

Carey, 24, is a former fourth-round pick out of Arizona by the Bears in the 2014 NFL Draft. He was entering the final year of a four-year, $2,663,380 rookie contract and was set to make a base salary of $690,000 this season.

The Bears waived him with an injury designation last week and he later reverted to their injured reserve list. Chicago elected to release him with an injury settlement shortly after.

In 2016, Carey appeared in 12 games for the Bears and recorded 32 rushing attempts for 126 yards rushing (3.9 YPC) and no touchdowns, while also gathering five receptions for 55 yards receiving (4.6 YPC).

Ferguson, 23, originally signed on with the Titans as an undrafted free agent out of Western Kentucky back in April. Tennessee decided to waive him as they trimmed their roster down to the 53-man limit and signed him to their practice squad once he cleared waivers.

The Titans released him from their practice squad.

During his three-year college career, Ferguson recorded 29 completions on 56 attempts (51.8 percent) for 389 yards and four touchdowns.
