Colts WR Austin Collie Doubtful For Sunday

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Colts WR Austin Collie suffered a setback on Thursday and is now listed as doubtful for Week 2’s game.

Collie is coming off of a concussion that he suffered during the preseason, so the fact that he reportedly suffered a setback is somewhat concerning.

According to Tom James of the Terre Haute Tribune-Star, Colts WR Austin Collie is expected to play against the Minnesota Vikings this weekend, despite the fact that he was held out of practice on Thursday.

While Collie may be a go for this weekend, it’s hard to say what kind of role he’ll have in the team’s offense.

He could line up anywhere. He has the position flexibility to do anything. He would start out wide and go from there,” said offensive coordinator Bruce Arians. “Austin hasn’t really been out there, other than that one practice, for about a month.”

Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano mentioned that WR Austin Collie will be a “full go” for Week 2’s game against the Vikings, per Mike Chappell.

Collie suffered another concussion a few weeks ago, but has since been medically cleared. Collie mentioned that he expects to play as long as he can, despite the fact that he has suffered a number of concussions in the last few years.

The Colts could use another reliable receiver to go with Reggie Wayne, so Collie’s return should really help Andrew Luck in the coming weeks, assuming that he can stay on the field.
