Concerns Regarding Bears HC Marc Trestman’s Leadership & Job Security

Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports is reporting that the Bears are currently in a state of crisis and these issues can be attributed to a “leadership void.”

According to La Canfora, the Bears players are reportedly tuning HC Marc Trestman out, and several sources within the team mentioned that they feared for Trestman’s job following Chicago’s horrible loss to the Patriots last weekend.

La Canfora’s sources added that there has been increased in-fighting within the team and players and coaches have called the team’s dedication in to question as well.

These issues have apparently gotten even worse in recent weeks and there is a chance that it could impact GM Phil Emery’s job moving forward.

Trestman has reportedly resonated with players more like a coordinator than as a head coach, which could explain the concerns regarding the lack of leadership within Bears.

There is no question that this has been an extremely disappointing season for the Bears, as many expected them to be in the running for a division title and a playoff run. Things can change quickly in the NFL and the Bears’ season is by no means over.

Trestman is a widely respective offensive coach around the NFL, but he’ll need to get this situation turned around in the near future in order to put these concerns to rest.

Since taking the job just a season ago, Trestman has won 45.8 percent of his games and finished with an 8-8 record last season. This year, Chicago is sitting at 3-5 and has a big divisional game coming against the Packers in Green Bay.
