Contract Extension Coming For Bears CB Charles Tillman?

Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune writes that the Chicago Bears could be looking to extend CB Charles Tillman‘s  contract this offseason.

Tillman, 32 next month, will be playing in his second consecutive Pro Bowl this weekend after another productive season with the Bears defense. However, Tillman will be entering the final year of his seven-year deal and will count $8 million against the Bears salary cap next season.

According to Biggs, Chicago could look to reduce that number by reworking his current contract. Biggs adds that Tillman could eventually move to safety at some point in the next few years, which would allow the Bears to factor that into his next deal while freeing up some cap space in the time being.

Pro Football Focus rated Tillman as the No. 4 cornerback in 2012.
