Contract Talks Between Raiders & Charles Woodson Reportedly Hit A “Snag”

According to Scott Bair of CSN Bay Area, contract talks between the Raiders and free agent S Charles Woodson have reportedly hit a “snag” in recent days.

Bair mentions that the contract structure is resonsible for the current issues in negotiations.

The Raiders are reportedly interested in retaining Woodson, who had a better than expected season for them last year.

Bair adds that Woodson is not set on a multi-year contract, but would like to secure a deal that “shows confidence in what he can still do.

Woodson, 37, has said that intends to play next season, but he doubts he’ll be back in Green Bay.

“I don’t think that’s going to happen,” Woodson said via text message Monday. “I definitely plan on playing. But I think the Packers already have plenty of safeties. LOL.

Woodson, 37, has produced 75 tackles, two sacks, one interception, three forced fumble and a defensive touchdown for the Raiders. He was rated as the No. 28 safety in the league last season, according to Pro Football Focus.
