Cowboys “Aggressively” Trying To Sign DT Tyrone Crawford To An Extension

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the Dallas Cowboys are “aggressively” trying to sign DT Tyrone Crawford to a long-term contract extension.

  • According to Rapoport, the hope is to have an agreement in place before Sunday.

Crawford, 25, is in the final year of his four-year, $2.675 million rookie contract that included a $575,252 signing bonus. He stands to make a base salary of $675,000 for the 2015 season.

Dallas used a third round pick on Crawford back in 2012 and he’s quickly become their best interior defensive lineman.

In 2014, Crawford appeared in 15 games for the Cowboys and recorded 32 tackles, three sacks, a forced fumble and a pass defense. Last year, Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 15 defensive tackle out of 81 qualifying players.
