Cowboys CB Nolan Carroll Arrested Monday On DWI Charge

According to Claire Cardona of the Dallas Morning News, Cowboys CB Nolan Carroll was arrested early Monday on a charge of DWI.

Carroll was booked and later posted bond Monday afternoon after he was pulled over for an unspecified traffic violation.

A Cowboys official tells David Moore of Carroll’s arrest: “We are aware of the situation and are gathering information at this time.

Dallas needed to find some help at cornerback after they lost both Brandon Carr and Morris Claiborne during free agency, but this is hardly the kind of news the Cowboys want to hear from a free agent acquisition.

Moore notes that the Cowboys actually offer free Uber rides to players who feel they shouldn’t drive.

Carroll, 30, is a former fifth-round pick of the Dolphins back in 2010. After four years in Miami, Carroll signed on with the Eagles in 2014 before returning to Philadelphia on a one-year, $2.36 million contract last year.

The Cowboys signed him to a three-year, $10-million contract that included a $3 million signing bonus this past March.

In 2016, Carroll has appeared in all 16 games and recorded 55 tackles, one interception and 10 pass defenses for the Eagles.

We’ll have more regarding Carroll’s arrest as the news is available.
