Cowboys CB Terence Newman On The Chopping Block?

The Dallas Cowboys will have to address their secondary during the offseason as CB Terence Newman has regressed quite a bit this during the year.

Cutting Newman in the coming weeks would save the Cowboys $4 million but Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that they could wait until after June 1 they could actually save $6 million in cap space.

This will depend on their plans for free agency as they may elect to release him in the near future to free up more cash for roster additions.

If Newman is released in June, it would have a very negative impact on his value and would probably force him to sign a pretty cheap contract.

ESPN Dallas writes that the Cowboys “would love” to get Alabama CB Dre Kirkpatrick during the draft which could end up being a huge upgrade at the position as well as a long-term solution.
