Cowboys Claim RB Rod Smith Off Waivers From Seahawks

The Dallas Cowboys claimed RB Rod Smith off of waivers from the Seattle Seahawks on Wednesday, according to Bryan Broaddus.

Smith, 23, wound up signing on with the Seahawks as an undrafted free agent out of Ohio State following this year’s NFL draft. He was unable to make the 53-man roster coming out of the preseason, but he was later added to their practice squad.

The Seahawks signed Smith to their active roster last week to bolster their running back depth Marshawn Lynch out of the lineup. Seattle waived Smith yesterday along with WR B.J. Daniels.

This season, Smith has appeared in one game ran for five yards on two carries for the Seahawks.
