Cowboys Considering Signing LB Justin Durant, Deal Could Be In Place Soon

Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that the Cowboys are discussing a potential reunion with LB Justin Durant.

  • According to Garafolo, an agreement could be in place at some point in the near future.

Signing Durant to a contract would bolster their linebacker depth now that they’ll be without Rolando McClain for 10 games after he was recently suspended.

Durant, 30, is a former second-round pick of the Jaguars back in 2007. He spent four years in Jacksonville before signing on with the Lions in 2011. Durant later played two years for the Cowboys before signing three-year, $10.8 million contract with the Falcons.

Atlanta elected to cut Durant loose back in February and this is the first reported interest in him since he became available.

In 2015, Durant appeared in 13 games for the Falcons and recorded 82 tackles, no sacks, and three pass defenses.

We have him featured in our Best Available Free Agents list.
