Cowboys Could Target A WR At No. 16 Overall?

According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the Cowboys target a receiver at No. 16 overall.

Rapoport specifically mentions that guys like LSU’s Odell Beckham Jr and USC’s Marquise Lee could both be targets for the Cowboys at that point in the draft.

Dallas has more pressing needs like edge rusher and defensive tackle, but Rapoport mentions that guys like Pittsburgh DT Aaron Donald ans UCLA Anthony Barr could both be gone by that point in the draft.

Todd Archer of ESPN.com mentioned this weekend that the Cowboys would like to come away with Notre Dame OL Zack Martin, but he too is expected to be a high pick.

Certainly, trading back remains an option for the Cowboys if they’re able to find some takers.

As for the idea of adding a receiver, the Cowboys currently have Dez Bryant, Terrance Williams, Jamar Newsome, Cole Beasley and Dwyane Harris on their depth chart, so there is actually a fairly pressing need at the position.

For what it’s worth, we have the Cowboys taking Barr in the first round of our recently updated 2014 NFL Mock Draft.
