Cowboys DB Orlando Scandrick To Miss Time With Transverse Fractures In His Back

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that Cowboys DB Orlando Scandrick suffered two transverse process fractures in his back during Thursday night’s win over the Redskins and he should end up missing one or more games.

According to Rapoport, Scandrick was kicked on the third play of the game, which led to him sustaining the injury. Even so, Scandrick managed to play through the injury before receiving the diagnosis Friday morning.

Earlier this season, Scandrick suffered a broken left hand that required surgery and for a plate to be put in his left hand to stabilize a broken third metacarpal.

Scandrick, 30, is a former fifth-round pick of the Cowboys back in 2008. He is in the third year of his five-year, $20 million contract and set to make a base salary of $3 million for the 2017 season.

Scandrick suffered a season-ending knee injury back in 2015 and was placed on injured reserve.

This season, Scandrick has recorded 38 tackles, no interceptions and three pass defenses for the Cowboys over the course of 11 games.

We’ll have more regarding Scandrick’s injury as the news is available.
