Cowboys DE Anthony Spencer Drawing Interest From Multiple Teams

Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News reports that multiple teams have already expressed interest Cowboys free agent DE Anthony Spencer.

According to George, the Cowboys have no plans to get into a bidding war for Spencer, even though he believes Dallas and Spencer are a good fit.

The Cowboys would instead prefer to re-sign him on another low-risk deal, but that seems unlikely given the number of teams currently interested in signing him.

Spencer, 31, was once a prized free agent who received the Cowboys franchise tag back in 2013.

However, he unfortunately suffered a season-ending ACL tear during the first game of the season, which forced him to sign a one-year, prove-it contract with the Cowboys.

In 2014, Spencer recorded 23 tackles, a half sack, a forced fumble, and a recovery for a touchdown over the course of 13 games. Pro Football Focus has him rated as the No. 21 defensive end in 4-3 defense out of 59 qualifying players.

We have Spencer listed as the No. 92 player in our Top 100 Free Agents list.
