Cowboys DE Randy Gregory Drops Appeal Of 10-Game Suspension, Out Until Week 15

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Cowboys DE Randy Gregory has dropped his appeal of the 10-game suspension he was facing for multiple violations of NFL’s Substance Abuse policy.

Schefter adds that this will result in Gregory missing the first 14 weeks of the 2016 season before he can return to the team in Week 15.

The 10-game suspension is on top of the four-game suspension Gregory received back in February for aother violation of the NFL substance-abuse policy. He failed four drug tests, per the NFL’s drug policy with the first violation coming at the combine.

Gregory, 23, is in the second year of his four-year, $3.814 million contract that includes $1.404 million guaranteed. He stands to make a base salary of $525,000 for the 2016 season.

In 2015, Gregory appeared in 12 games for the Cowboys and recorded 11 tackles and no sacks.
